Charles Shedden, a master antique clock and watchmaker, left an indelible mark on the horological world. Born in Perth around 1799, he spent over 50 years honing his craft. Shedden’s workshop was located at 3 George Street, Perth, Scotland, where he meticulously crafted timepieces. His work extended beyond horology, as he was also involved in various other pursuits.

Shedden began his career as a watch and clock journeyman in London, working alongside his lifelong friend Colin Croll.

He gained experience under renowned horological partnerships such as McCabe and Strachan at the Royal Exchange, London.

Around 1825, Shedden returned to his native Perth in Scotland as a fully qualified horologist.
