HENRY ANDERSON of TUILLAILAN* (Scotland)

This is a quality Georgian Scottish clock which has been extensively restored. It has an 8-day movement housed in an attractive mahogany case.

The 12” painted dial is in excellent condition. The arch depicts a courting couple in a pastoral setting, whilst the spandrels show the maiden in scenes from the four seasons. The seconds dial and date dial are both in working order. All hands are brass.

The hood has a swan neck pediment and a brass finial. It is supported on cylindrical pillars with brass cappings. Glazing is to the front and the sides.

The movement is clean and runs well. It keeps excellent time, ringing the hour to a bell.

The trunk has quarter reeded pillars, flame mahogany and inlaid panels, and bracket feet. It has a lovely patina. The door has a working lock and key.
