‘J.Blackhurst of Waverham.’

This is a lovely 8-day George III painted-dial clock in medium-oak, dating from Circa.1800.

The painted face is in very good condition. It has a white centre decorated with regal and colourful birds. T​he hands are solid brass, as are those of the seconds hand. The face also has a date aperture. The spandrels all depict traditional English churches.

The movement is clean and in good working order. It keeps good time and has been serviced.

The hood has a break arch with brass cappings and three wooden finials. There is some stringing, possibly box wood. There are square wooden pillars to the front.

The case is quite plain, having square wooden pillars and some marquetry. The door has a lock and key, and a decorative brass escutcheon.
