A lovely Victorian mahogany inlaid 8-day clock which is in excellent, restored condition.
The painted dial has four figures to the spandrels which depict the four quarters of the globe, and has a lunar dial above. It has brass ringed winding squares, a date sector, subsidiary seconds dial, and pierced brass hands. Lunar dial, date sector and seconds dial are all in working order.
The movement is clean and keeps good time. It rings the hour to a bell. It has been serviced.
The hood has a swan neck pediment, a brass finial and fluted pillars. There is some fine inlay.
The reeded column trunk has a gothic niche door with raised moulding to the edges and inlay, and the base has ogee feet. Please note: there is no key to the door.
