GEORGE III 8-DAY
Provenance: Newton Old Hall, Derbyshire
This is a good quality clock housed in a very nice oak and mahogany case.
The 34cm arched brass dial has a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and a working calendar dial. The arch has a “sun in splendour”.
The movement is in good, clean condition, and strikes the hour on a pleasant-sounding bell. It keeps good time.
The hood has a swan neck pediment, and is supported on wooden pillars with brass cappings.
The trunk is in excellent condition, the flame mahogany door being particularly attractive. The door has a working lock and key.
