An Enchanting Longcase Clock by ‘THOMAS BULLOCK’ of BATH.
This is an 8-day William IV clock.
It has an arched painted dial with Roman numerals, and has
working seconds dial and date aperture. The arch is painted with a
courting couple, and the four corners with flowers. The standard of
the art work is high. The hands are brass.
The movement works well and keeps good time
The mahogany hood has wooden pillars with brass cappings, and
a central brass finial of an eagle.
The case is also in mahogany, and has boxwood stringing. The
condition is generally excellent.
Thomas Bullock came from an established family of Bath clock
makers.From 1740 through to the latter part of the 19th Century the
name of Bullock was synonymous with Bath and the surrounding area.
