‘J Shepard of Sheffield.’
This is an early eighteenth century madium oak 8-day clock dated c. 1725.
The brass dial has Roman and Subsidiary Arabic numerals, and a subsidiary seconds dial.
The movement is in very good condition and rings on a bell. The clock keeps excellent time.
The domed hood is supported by wooden pillars, and has glazing to the sides. There is a small crack to the door glass, but the glass appears to be original and we have therefore decided not to replace it.
The trunk is in good condition, the full-length door having a lock and key.
