A handsome and majestic grandfather clock from the early 1800’s made by William Slater, brother of Thomas Slater (clockmaker), from Uttoxeter and Lichfield. It has an 8-Day movement and is in excellent health, having been extensively restored and maintained. The movement has been completely refurbished; the teeth are as sharp as they left the clockmakers back in 1810 and the cogs rotate beautifully. It has an 8-Day movement with a tastefully painted face depicting a countryside scene. The bold casing is in deep mahogany with an elegant lustre and beautiful shine.
