John Scholefield of London
John Scholefield is a listed maker of some note, working in London in the 1760s.
This is an 8-day brass-faced clock.
The quality movement is in good clean condition, and is weighty.
The dial has a matted centre with both chapter ring and seconds dial being silvered. The face also has a working date aperture.
The case and hood are of medium oak. The hood has swan neck pediments which flank a central fleur-de-lys, and reeded columns with brass cappings.
The trunk has a door with a shaped top. Lock and key are present.
